With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John David Oakes of Fort Myers, Florida, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. John David left this world on July 12, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel and Nellie Easter (Sanders); his daughter Dawn Anne Oakes; and his siblings, Dan Oakes, Carolyn Ertel, Nancy Oakes, Thomas Oakes and Becky Hooper.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Oakes (Graybiel); his son John P. Oakes (Kathi); his grandchildren, John Daniel Oakes (Sydney) and Kelly Ryan (Nick); his great grandchildren, Paige, William and Lucy Oakes; and his sister Betty Brenan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM and at 1:00 PM.
