He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Nancy Wagner, Cindy Kari, Joe Bullyan (Peggy) and Richard Bullyan (LuAnn); his grandchildren, Jennifer Nylund (Chris), Shelly Vanneste (Craig), John Kari (Mary), Jodie Bullyan, Joey Bullyan (Kari), Jamie Benito (Manuel), Josh Bullyan and Kelli Myers; and his caregiver Karen, RN. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunrise Memorial Funeral Home (4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, MN 55811). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Sunrise Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joe's memory to one of the organizations he cherished: Bethany Children's Home, UDAC, or CHUM Open Door.
