He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Simon and Sophie Simon (Gutman); and his former wife Yvonne Meyers Simon. He is survived by: his spouse Syracuse University; his children, Mark Simon (Tracey), Sheryl Motto (Leonard) and Scott Simon (Jill); his grandchildren, Jenna Simon, Tara Anderson (Lars), Alexa Simon, Rachel Chick, Kolby Simon (Krista), Jake Simon (Kaija) and Amanda Simon; and his great grandchildren, Avery Anderson, Kayce Simon and Sophie Anderson.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Ohav Shalom Cemetery (519 Church Rd, Albany, NY 12203).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to Congregation Ohav Shalom or the Colonie Senior Services Fund, both in Albany, New York.
