He is survived by: his wife Karen Schmidt (Voorhees); his son Scott Shannon (Gloria); his grandchildren, Colin, Cora and Gavin Shannon; his brothers, Paul Schmidt (June) and David Schmidt (Chris); and his brother-in-law Donald Voorhees. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
