He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Ray and Ona Ray; and his siblings, Erma, Betty, Shirley and Ulysses.
He is survived by: his wife Bettye; his children, Gloria Gregory (Stan) and Oliver Ray (Amy); his grandchildren, Josh Ray (Brooke), Jon Ray, Ashley Gregory, Jessica Dasher (Grant), Grant Gregory (Ryan) and Quin Daughtry; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Oliver, Lucy, Crosby, Evangelin, Cohen, Allison and Eliza; and his sister Barbara Callahan (Carroll).
A graveside service was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Et Scandinavian Cemetery (1700 Rural St, Rockford, IL 61107).
