Bill Edwards wrote a sympathy message

“In Loving Memory of Walt Westley As I sit down to write this tribute, my mind wanders back to the fall of 1962, when Walt Westley's and my paths first crossed. It was our freshman year at the University of Kansas, a time of youthful exuberance and the beginning of a friendship that would span decades. Walt was more than just a fellow Jayhawk; he was a central figure in the tapestry of memories woven on the third floor of J.R. Pearson Hall. at KU>”
