He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Gainer and Lee Willie; his former wife Zakkiyya Muhammad; his children, Khalid Muhammad and Ayesha Muhammad; and his brothers, Eddie Gainer, Johnny Reese Gainer, Bobby Gainer, Lee and Alphonso Gainer.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Irvis; his children, Dureshahwar Muhammad Stroudermire (Robert) of Stuart, FL, Ameera Toole (James) of Tallahassee, FL and Shahzaadee Muhammad of Miami, FL.; his grandchildren, Rakhshanda Smith (Al-Amin), Deen L. Muhammad-Murphy (Wilma Muhammad Murphy), Kenicia T. Farlin (Dequaderick) and Kenneth Muhammad-Trody; his sister Lynda Jean Gainer-Young of Fort Pierce, FL; his nieces, Alfreda Anthony Akins of Fort Pierce, FL, Wanda Wiggins of Fort Pierce, FL and Deidre King of Fort Pierce, FL; his close friend Katherine Smith; and his cousin Georgia Givens.
