She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Epperson and Rachel Epperson (Cadwallader); her husband Wendell Carlen; her daughter Brenda; and her grandson Andrew Carlen.
She is survived by: her children, Brian (Bobbie) of Sebastian and Shelly Carlen of Fort Pierce, Florida; and her sisters, Joan, Sue and Beverly. She is also survived by five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
