She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Bray and Beulah Pillion Bray; and her sister Charlotte Bray. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Omer Strickland; her grandchildren, Kirsten, Audrey, Melinda Nadal (Jayson), Hannah Strickland and Gavin Polston; and her siblings, Levear Andrews (Harold) of Fort Pierce, Pamela Ray (Terry) of Port St, David Bray (Vicky) of Ewing, Mary Smith (Chester) of Ewing, Martha Roop (Carl) of Birmingham and Rosetta Glass (Jonathan) of Rose Hill, Virginia.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's honor to Hillcrest Assembly of God Children's Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
