He was predeceased by: his significant other Beverly Barker Black. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Brenda DeWitt; his grandchildren, Robert DeWitt and Mary Beth Rowe; his great grandchildren, Noah DeWitt and Dylan Etheridge; and his children, Lawana Brown (Wylie), Sabrina Black, Barbara Watkins (Patrick), Tina Drake (Duane), Melissa Black, Dexter DeWitt, Carl DeWitt (Val) and Robert Black, Jr.. He is also survived by 3 sisters, 31 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 13 great-great- grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Haisley Funeral Home (3015 Okeechobee Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34947).
