He was predeceased by: his mother L. H. Mercer; his daughter Abby J. Mercer; and his brother Glen Mercer of Fort Walton Beach. He is survived by: his wife Norma "Jan" Mercer of Fort Walton Beach; his son David Mercer of Fort Walton Beach; and his siblings, Elmer Mercer, Wayne Mercer and Barbara Leveritt.
