He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. W. Blackwell and Elizabeth Ford Blackwell; his son-in-law George Posey; and his siblings, Aubrey Blackwell, Juanita McWilliams, Prentiss Blackwell, Lois Brown, Preston Blackwell and Billy Ray Blackwell.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Enfinger Blackwell; his children, Sherry Blackwell Posey and Kelvin Blackwell (Rebecca); the mother of his children Barbara Hillman Blackwell; his stepsons, Russell Mills (Rebecca) and Eric Mills (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Matthew Posey (Caroline), Daniel Posey (Sydney), Kristopher Blackwell (Melissa), Brittany Stevens (Dougie), Brian Blackwell (Micaela) and Kristi Guernsey (Noah); his great grandchildren, Ronnie Posey, Gabe, Titus Blackwell, Arlo, Emmett and Rowan Stevens; and his siblings, Roy Keith Blackwell, Norma Faye Cooley and Ann Godshaw (Jim).
