With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Richards (Fruitland Park, Florida), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 5, 2025 at the age of 80. As Mary departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Mary. Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Veronica Joan Hanlon Witterschein and George Joseph Witterschein. She is survived by: her children, William Richards of The Villages, FL, Michael Richards of Port Orange, FL and Mary Elizabeth Richards Wood; her son-in-law Jeffrey Scott Wood of Orlando, FL; and her grandchildren, Ava Carrington Richards, Tate Joseph Richards, Liam Joseph Richards, Gabriel Stephen Richards, McKenna Elizabeth Richards, Aidan Michael Richards and Jorge Zion Gomez.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Community United Methodist Church (309 College Ave, Fruitland Park, FL 34731).
