She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Hill and Nannie Mae DeVane Hill; her husband James D. Smith Sr.; her mother-in-law Maggie Franklin; and her siblings, Roland Hill, Franklin Hill, Eldon Hill, Cecil Hill, Irvin Hill, Lougenia Hill, Virgie Thames, Shelly Johnson and Lydia Mauer.
She is survived by: her children, James David Smith Jr. "Jimmy", Ralph E. Smith, Tammy S. Smith (Stanley) and Lisa G. Green (Rodney); her siblings, William Hill (Christine), Ronnie Hill and Betty Trussell; and her nieces, Frances Edwards, Debbie Young and Sandra Parker. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
