He is survived by: his wife Donna Green-Townsend; his children, Ellie (Andy Johnson), Jessie (John Armstrong) and Dorsey Lee Townsend, III; his grandchildren, Emeline, Johnny, Connor and Emma; and his siblings, Ray (Charlotte), John (Kathy) and Linda (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
