With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas G. Burton (Gainesville, Florida), who passed away on June 11, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Burton and Mildred Burton. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Stevenson; his children, Debra Fitzgerald (Danny) and Steven Burton (Susan); his grandchildren, Michael Burton (Courtney), Emma Slocum (Adam), Aaron Fitzgerald (Lucy), Mary Giordano (Mike), David Burton, Jonathan Fitzgerald and Joseph Burton; and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Burton (late Robert), Wilbur Zike (late Jane), Jim Stevenson (Sandy) and Tom Stevenson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Douglas Burton to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or Grace at Fort Clarke Church, 9325 W Newberry Rd, Gainesville, FL 32606.
