He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Jr. and Mary Hatch Smithy; his wife Jimmie Juanita Smithy; his children, Susan "Suzie" Lynne Smithy and Stephen Smithy; and his brothers, Joel Wayne Smithy and Lawrence Glenn Smithy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Elaine Smithy and Pamela Michelle Gorman (Shelly); his grandsons, Jeffrey Sanford Willis II, Kyle David Judd and Brett Matthew Judd; and his sister Gloria Ramona Crews.
