He was predeceased by: his parents, Anita McNealy and John C. Shepard. He is survived by: his sisters, Suzanne Cook and Diana Garcia; his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Cook and Michael Garcia; his children, John W Shepard Jr. and Rachel Helm; his former wife Sally Shepard; and his granddaughter Taylor Helm. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
