She was predeceased by: her husband Elbert Thomas Reed; her daughters, Linda Reed Proffitt and Tiffany Dawn Reed; her parents, Walter Hyder and Ruby Hyder; and her brothers, Paul Hyder, David Hyder, Gordon Hyder and Ray Hyder.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Reed Yancey of Gainesville and Vickie Reed Wilt (Jeff) of Gainesville, FL; her sisters, Clara Jo Hyder Sutter and Brenda Gail Hyder Monroe (Rick); her grandchildren, Richard Allen Proffitt (Kristie) of Lebanon, Jonathan Thomas DiGiovanni (Lindsey) of Atlanta, Georgia, Joshua Reed DiGiovanni (Samantha) of Atlanta, Ashley Wilt Ramirez (Kyle) of Gainesville, Jacob Richard Yancey of Gainesville and Abigail Brooke Wilt of Washington, DC.; and her great grandchildren, Richard Proffitt III, Kaleigh Proffitt, Everett DiGiovanni, Emery DiGiovanni and Amara Ramirez. She is also survived by her family, friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hood Funeral Home (2371 US-127, Crossville, TN 38572).
