We announce the death of Peggy Joyce Smith in Gainesville, Florida, who passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 95. Peggy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She is survived by: her siblings, Loretta, Carol, Mary Lou, Frank, Gene, Glen and Eddie; and her children, Linda Wirtz, Sandy Flora, Mike Medellin, Joe Medellin, Dan Medellin, Don Medellin, Ron Medellin and Robert Smith. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703). Viewing was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Highland Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (5900 Oleander Dr, Orlando, FL 32807). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703).
