We announce the death of Peggy P. Zant in Gainesville, Florida, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 89. Peggy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Peggy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Peggy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Peggy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: James Summers Perkins and Lelia Lesslie Perkins; stepfather: Clayton E. Bradshaw; husband (predeceased): S. Douglas Zant; brother (predeceased): James Summers Perkins III; sister-in-law (predeceased): Martha Baugh Perkins; daughters: Susan Zant (Dr. Lloyd Johnson) and Allyson Zant; caregivers: Kim and Kayla; and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church (4000 NW 53rd Ave, Gainesville, FL 32653). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Lake Park Cemetery (123 N Essa St, Lake Park, GA 31636).
