He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Thomas and Lillian A. Thomas (Obermeyer); his sister Dawn Hustus (late John); his grandchildren, Ethan, Reed, Zade and Layne Thomas; and his siblings-in-law, Betsy Seymour, Frank Hoefler III, Donald Hoefler and Koreen Strong.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thomas (Hoefler); his children, Richard W. Thomas Jr. (Michelle) and Tara K. Thomas; and his siblings, Linda Kawczynski (late Dennis), Bonnie Wawrzyniec (Tom), Kim Kanouff (Walter) and Robin Thomas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in Richard's honor to the Newstead Fire Company.
