He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern Hodsdon and Bess Hodsdon; his former wife Carrie Green Hardin; his sister Sylvia Hood; and his son-in-law Kenneth Ellis.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Kennedy Hodsdon. He is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a nephew.

I first met Mr. Vern at North Gainesville Baptist Church. He always sat up on the front row, dedicated to his Lord. It's comforting to know where Mr. Vern now is; and that he is in a better place. I pray his loss may lead you to find the Lord. God bless!”
