He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carmichael and Wilma Carmichael; his siblings, Earl and Janice; and his son Johnathan.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Carmichael; his son Mark Carmichael; and his brothers, Lamar, Lavon, Wendell and Bobby.
