He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Applewhite and Christine Applewhite; his pet Sophia; his wife Gloria Applewhite; and his brothers, Bobby and Fuller Applewhite.

He is survived by: his sons, Chris Applewhite (Kim) and Kevin Applewhite (Amanda); his grandchildren, Morgan Gainer, Stevie Applewhite, Cole Applewhite (Autumn) and Turner Gainer (Maggie); and his great grandchildren, Garrett, Nate Applewhite and Gradie Gainer.
