He was predeceased by: his parents, Green Barry Baxter and Myrtle Thelma Mooneyham; his grandfather Will; his wives, Lillie Gertrude Evans Baxter, Robyn Shaffer Baxter, Alysha Baxter and Arhea Baxter; his daughter-in-law Amy Baxter; and his siblings, Willie Paul and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his children, James Earl Baxter and Gwendolyn Joette Baxter Soltis (Joe Soltis); his brother Bobby Green Baxter; his grandchildren, Rachael Michelle Ellis (Marc Ellis), Michael Johnston Gaffney, Jennifer Elaine Cazier (Roy Cazier), Stephen Carlton Gaffney (Julie), James Travis Baxter, Robert Earl Baxter (April) and Rebecca Anne Spencer; and his great grandchildren, Aaron, Mariah, Michael, Natasha Ellis, Liam, Lilliana Gaffney, Joshua, Nathan, Sariah, Joseph, Gideon, Samuel, Elizabeth Cazier, Hannah Franceschi, Noah James Baxter, Georgia, Lauren Baxter, Ashley Duhon and Jacob Spencer. He is also survived by 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel (4278 Lafayette St, Marianna, FL 32446). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
