He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Mooty and Verna Mae Mooty; and his brothers, Dennis and Vernon. He is survived by: his children, Brian Mooty (Keeley) and Tracy Butler (Carlos); and his wife Debbie. He is also survived by spouses, and his five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Gary by planting something green, cheering on the Dolphins, or simply lending a hand to someone in need.
