Helen Hargis Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Hargis of Groveland, Florida, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Purdy and Charles Purdy; and her siblings-in-law, Joan Ferris, Sarah Thompson and Wayne Elmore.
She is survived by: her significant other Charles "Chuck" Hargis; her son Bruce L. Hargis (Yvonne); her grandchildren, Aaron Hargis and Amanda Hargis Webb (Timothy Webb); her great grandchildren, Paige Hargis, Aadyn Hargis, Zoey Hargis, Thomas Webb, Aaron Jones and Jozalyn Sullivan; her siblings, Rosemary Yaekel (Jim Yaekel), JoAnn Elmore and Charles "Charlie" Purdy (Juanita Purdy); and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Bretz (Karl Bretz), Miriam Poston (Ken Poston), Lorna VonTalge (Ron VonTalge) and Olen Lawrence Hargis (Nancy Hargis). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and God-children.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Woodlands Lutheran Church (15333 County Rd 455, Montverde, FL 34756).
