With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Floyd Taft Wharton of Gulf Breeze, Florida, who passed away on June 28, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Taft Wharton, Sr. and Elsie Laura Counce Wharton; his daughter Catherine Wharton; his siblings, Jackie Lee Wharton and Glenda Gaye Williams; his niece Dawne Jolley; and his nephew Jack Peden.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Ballard Wharton; his children, Scott Wharton and Stacy Powell (Mark); his grandchildren, Katelyn Powell, Thomas Powell and Christopher Powell; his nieces, Michele Newell (Ballard) and Julie Parker (Mike); and his nephew Harold Williams.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Light Baptist Church (17161 US-412, Walnut Ridge, AR 72412). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
