He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Keene and Nannie Boyd Keene; and his siblings, James Keene, Douglas Keene, David Keene, Robert Keene, Evelyne Keene and Loretta Keene.
He is survived by: his children, Cheyenne Keene of Nashville, Georgia, Jesse Keene of Enigma, Rebecca Keene of Quitman and Charlene Poole of Reidsville; and his sister Dorothy Kathy Seader of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; along with several extended family members and dear friends.
