With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Harry McHenry Darnell of Hernando, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 6, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hewitt Darnell and Ruth Holstein Darnell; his former wife Barbara Webb Darnell; his sister Nanette Darnell Gosen; and his former wife Dorothy Bertram Darnell.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Kirk Darnell (Jilly), Cynthia Lynn Darnell Miller (James), Charles Phillip Darnell (Tammara), Brian Scott Darnell (Benita) and Julia Ann Darnell Clark (Robert); his grandchildren, Kelley A. Minars, Tory G. Minars, C. Kurt Darnell, Amie Darnell Specht (Matt), Nicole Darnell Wedekin (Ben), Kirstyn Rees Tackett (Cameron), Eric B. Rees (Morgan) and Hope Rees Jimenez (Kevin); his great grandchildren, Carter, Samantha, Daniel Tackett, Baker and Able Rees; his wife Rosalie Weeks Darnell; and his stepdaughter Lisa A. Moore.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ocala West Chapel (6241 SW State Rd 200, Ocala, FL 34476). A burial was held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
