He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Vance Gessler and Margaret Huntsinger Gessler; his sister Phyllis Gessler; his former wife June Gessler; and his wife Linda Gessler.
He is survived by: his sons, Fred Smith (Arielle) and Jason Kane (Jennifer). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
