She was predeceased by: her parents, Carmine Santaferrara and Livia D'Orazia Santaferrara; her husband Joseph Ortola; and her siblings, Julia Romano, Ann Pannetti, Fay Murray, Angie Williams, Carbino, James and Joseph Santaferrara.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Ortola (Betsy Campbell), Mark Ortola (Terry Bysom) and Gina Ortola; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tracey and Benjamin Ortola; her great grandchildren, Jacob and Marcus Ortola; and her goddaughter Patricia Giufre. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Genevieve Ortola's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
