He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward McElhinney and Lillian McElhinney; his wife Joan McElhinney; his children, Peter E. McElhinney (Latifa) of Cary, NC, Steven McElhinney (Ann) of Medway, MA, Paul McElhinney (Cindy) of Mount Pleasant, SC and Stacey Chinchilla (Hector) of Brooksville, FL.; his grandchildren, Sara Diaz (Rolando), Fatimah (Jacobie Williams), Salma, Zainab, Julia Williamson (Harrison), Jack, Erin, Cole, Jill, Franklin Chinchilla and Carmen Chinchilla; and his great grandchildren, Aniyah McElhinney-Williams and Elias Diaz.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Grace Memorial Gardens. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Saint Theresa's Catholic Church (1107 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, FL 34606).
