Ashley leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ashley’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Ashley will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lottie Dempsey and Jessie Dempsey (Wallace); his grandson Devin Niesel; his sister Edwina Pick; and his former wife Lucy Holman.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Dempsey of Keystone Heights, Lucinda Murphy of Melrose, Carolyn Alderman (Troy) of St. Augustine and Jay Dempsey Jr. (Ashley) of Ft. Lonesome. He is also survived by "Pops" or "Grandpa" by his six grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church (10232 FL-674, Wimauma, FL 33598). A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
