He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Hersey and Geneva Hersey; his brothers, Raymond Hersey, John Wayne Hersey, Elbert Hersey and Dwight Hersey; and his half-sister Denise Norman.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Turner Hersey of Interlachen; his children, Donnie Hersey (Amy) of San Mateo and Donna Feibelman (Richard) of Interlachen; his siblings, Dewitt Hersey (Helen) of Theressa, Doyley Hersey (Mary) of Theressa, Lancin Hersey (Charlotte) of Brooker and Margaret Brannen of Lake City; and his grandchildren, Destin Hersey (Katie), Matt Hersey, Stephanie Feibelman Schmitz, Stephen Feibelman (Meagan), Dylan Hale, Dayton Johnson and Dayven Caramagna. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
At Don's request prior to his passing, he asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the church where his grandson is the pastor.
