Spooner and Willie Earnest Spooner; his siblings, Stetson Spooner, Earnest Spooner, Burl Spooner, Eunice Turner and Dorothy McNeely; his son-in-law Robby Paxton; his children, Kevin Spooner of Interlachen and Karen Paxton of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Joseph Paxton (Missy Paxton) and Katherine Paxton (Jason Sandoval); his great grandchildren, Joseph Paxton, Brandon Ayers and Elena Sandoval; and his sister Myra Hague of Melrose. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
