He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Sumner and Verna Ruth Sumner; his son Kevin Dennis Sumner; and his son-in-law Richard Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Marie Sumner of Inverness, FL; his children, Cynthia Ann Pierce of Chesterfield, Teresa Jo Bell (Tom) of Andrews, Indiana, Kathleen Marie Kelly (Ronnie) of Alexandria, Indiana and Keith Allen Sumner (Karen) of Bushnell, Florida; and his brother Stephen Dennis Sumner (Miriam) of Anderson, Indiana. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home (305 E Sigler St, Frankton, IN 46044). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
