He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Yero and Sheila Yero; his siblings, Patricia "Patsy" and Jeff Yero; and his grandson Eric Yero.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Scarpello; his sons, Thomas Yero (Maria) and Todd Yero (Brianna); his grandchildren, Marc and Tara; and his stepdaughter Tina Scarpello (Bruce Jones).
