She was predeceased by: her parents, Mose Sawyer and Emma Jane Sawyer (Warren); and her siblings, Charles Sawyer, Lucille Thurow, Dorothy Patenaude and Katherine Ball.
She is survived by: her husband George LaForty; her children, Dennis (Dianne), Anthony Wayne, Nancy Brooks (Scott Felts) and Alice Briggs (Tim Fitz); her grandchildren, T. J., Stephen, Matthew, Ryan, Ashley, Evan and Jarrett; and her great grandchildren, Gage, Lilly, Dianna and Beckett.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Quinn Shalz Funeral Home (3600 3rd St S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Beaches Memorial Park (1500 Main St, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233).
