He was predeceased by: his mother Ada Belle Johnson; his wife Willie Pearl Goolsby-Johnson (Cherry); his father Alonzo Sr. Johnson; his siblings, Deloris Marshall (Wayne), Glorius Louise Scruggs (Christian Dale), Veronica Louise Pollard and Alphonso Johnson; his aunts and uncles, Walter Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Willie Pearl Mattie-Kelly, Kate Brookins, Virginia Hooks and Marlena Hagans; and his siblings-in-law, Nolan Harris and Willie Mae Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Darryl Johnson, Antionette Johnson (Barry) and Sardelta Black (George Jr.); his grandchildren, Tytiyonna Nesmith, Jaszionna Johnson, Darielle Jonson, Zenobia Black, Darius Merritt and Zackariah Scott; his brother Alford Johnson; and his siblings-in-law, Aneeta Johnson, Parnell Harris, Roosevelt Pollard and Alfred Goolsby (Michelle).
