Barry Watson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barry Watson (Jacksonville, Florida), who passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Watson and Dorothy Davis Watson; and his brothers, Dr. William E. Watson and Kenneth Watson. He is survived by: his wife Naomi Joyce Watson; his children, Barry Watson, II and Melissa Watson Ruetty (Adam); his grandchildren, Naomi Ruetty and Colton Ruetty; his sisters, Rachel Waters of Jacksonville, Florida and Terri Brown Neal of Jacksonville, Florida; and his sister-in-law Harriet Watson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rufus E. Payne Memorial Chapel of Alphonso West Mortuary (4409 Soutel Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32208). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lake Forerst Church of Christ (950 Edgewood Ave W, Jacksonville, FL 32208). A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218).
