We bid farewell to Bessie Philmon Sirman of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Donalsonville, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 5, 2025 at the age of 93. Bessie Philmon touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Jernigan and Ruther Mae Runnels Jernigan; her spouses, Winston Eugene Philmon Sr. and Velmer Sirman; her brother Harmon Jernigan; and her son Jesse Philmon.
She is survived by: her sons, Winston Philmon Jr. (Mona) and Tim Philmon (Donna); her grandchildren, Clayton (Kim), Alison Younis (James), Dallas Philmon (Leslie) and Joshua Philmon; and her great grandchildren, Brayden, Joshua, Nicolas, Abigail Younis, Darcey Philmon, Gabriel and Naomi Philmon. She is also survived by several nephews, great nephews and nieces, extended family.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the North Jacksonville Baptist Church (8531 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32218). A celebration of life was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
