She was predeceased by: her parents, John Oakes (Ruth Moody) and Ronald Oakes. She is survived by: her sisters, Jennie and Lyla; her children, Joshua Lloyd, Jack Thorsen, Sarah Hendricks, Olivia Hendricks and Riley Hendricks; her grandchildren, Aila Blanchard and Val Lloyd; and her great grandchild Stormy Blue.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, etc. her loved ones donate to the ASPCA or their local homeless shelters in her name.
