He was predeceased by: his father Henry Webster Childress; and his brother Michael Ray Childress. He is survived by: his wife Jerilynn Mack Childress; his mother Sandra Norton Childress; his son Garrett A. Childress (Ashley); his mother-in-law Joann Carrell; his stepchildren, Michael New and Elizabeth New; and his stepgrandchildren, Cody Robinson, Isabelle Robinson, Bronson Loper and Maisie Loper. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
