He was predeceased by : his wife Ruby Carpenter Rainey (Heaven). He is survived by : his son Tony Ruth; his grandchildren, Dalton Ruth, Abby Alderman, Whitney Hart, Austin Fipps, Rebecca Bland, Renae Lowe (Brian) and Valoree Doran (Drew); his sister Bobbie Unkefer; and his friend Harry Jimmy Wagner. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the North Jacksonville Baptist Church (8531 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32218). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Cemetery Committal Service.
