She was predeceased by : her former life partner Donald Stover; her parents, Roy Lee Monroe and Ida Josephine Davis; and her siblings, Ella Mae Monroe Herron, Alberta Beatrice Monroe, Cornie Berniece Monroe Taylor, Annalou Monroe, Oscar Franklin Monroe, John Paul Monroe, Etyhel Lou Monroe Surcey, Edna Lorene Monroe Edwards, Margie Josephine Monroe Peak, Helen Monroe Emilgholz, Geneva Monroe Cobb and James Winifred Monroe.
She is survived by : her husband Charles Eugene Johnson; her stepdaughters, Melody Jorudd and Michelle Canaday; her grandchildren, Jennica, Devin and Chandler; her nephew William R. Monroe; and her close friend Frank Phinizy.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in her memory to either the American Society or a charity of your choice.
