She was predeceased by: her parents, Dessie Cook and Eva Cook (Pat); her husband Donald L. B. Miller; and her siblings, William Cook and Kathryn Cox.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Kate Thompson (David) and Donald Miller (Jennifer Whitley); her grandchildren, James Thompson (Joanna), Jessica Harvin (Joel), Kaila Whitley and Josh Whitley (Jesse); her great grandchildren, Oliver Thompson, Pate Harvin, Gant Harvin, Drake Thompson, Riddley Kate Harvin, Karsyn Harvin, Amira Dennis and James Whitley (JB); and her sister Kate Raulerson (Ray). She is also survived by one niece and five nephews.
