He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Miller and Virginia Miller; and his sister Diane Lovvorn. He is survived by: his wife Anne; his son Joel; his daughter-in-law Julie; his grandsons, Evan and Liam; his brother Guy; his siblings-in-law, Wanda Miller, Debbie, Duane Carter, John and Saundra Howard; his uncle Joel; his aunt Hookey Bagnal; and his pet Charlie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and a rich community of friends.
