He was predeceased by: his father Simon Sherman Jr.; his sister Armelia Sherman McCoy; and his aunts, Callie Knight and Helen Tinsley. He is survived by: his wife Helen Sherman; his siblings, Diana Sherman Coleman, Michael B. Sherman Sr. and Juan Drayton (Melanie); his in-laws, Geraldine West (Monroe), Joyce Chafen (James), Alfred Spencer, Gail West and Monroe West Jr.; and his children, Anthony Coleman (Brittany), Tiffany Grier (Reggie), Michael Grant, Clyde Grant and Traci Grant.
